Niemandsrosen is a collection of nine settings of fragments of poetry by the Rumanian poet Paul Celan (1920-1970) for mezzo-soprano and piano. The collection consists of eight miniature songs based on fragments taken from the volume of poems Die Niemandsrose (1963) and an epilogue based on a fragment taken from Celan's collection Lichtzwang (1970). All text fragments deal with the theme of the Absent Other. Niemandsrosen was written for Sabine Schilling.
